Apple's first Retina MacBook Pro — dropped the optical drive and removable battery, and for the first time soldered RAM directly to the logic board, ending user-upgradable memory on the Pro line. Screen assembly replacement (the whole Retina panel, not just the glass) is the most requested and most expensive repair for this generation.
